Travel and Safety

Despite many rumors that Yemen is an unstable and dangerous country, tourists are still flocking around to explore the spectacular ancient remnants of history and remarkably beautiful landscapes. A booming industry in Yemen, tour agencies are in abundance to cater to you taste and wallet. Tours can range from one day to a week long excursion. We encourage our students to take advantage of the break between terms to discover the many wonders of Yemen , from the amazing house perched precariously on the rock in Wadhi Dahr to the ancient sun temple of Queen Sheeba, from the lush valley of Shibam to the seaport city of Aden. To travel within Yemen, students only need a copy of their passport, a travel permit and a letter from the Institute.

To those who seek to fulfill a lifelong dream of performing hajj, the destination never seems so close. Indeed, many of us waited impatiently for the holy month to approach, planning to perform the umrah and dreaming of Hajj in the coming months. So, with so many visa rules and regulation, how does one plan this trip? The answer is simple. If the student is a holder of permanent residency, it suffice to obtain an exit/re-entry visa in order to exit and re-enter Yemen. For those who is holding a tourist visa or an entry visa, you must apply for another entry visa to enter Yemen. Sign up with the hajj group and they will take care of the travel arrangement and other visas.
