Payment and refund policies

1) To secure a place in the program, students should pay a registration deposit of $ 500 (or € 350). This deposit is nonrefundable. The remaining fees should be paid on arrival in Sana'a, prior to commencement of the course.

2) Students who wish to have their visa arranged in advance through SIAL, to be collected upon arrival at Sana'a International Airport, should send the visa fee of $100 (or € 70) along with their registration deposit. The visa fee is non-refundable.

3) Students who withdraw from the Institute within the first week of the program will receive a full refund of the unused tuition fees.

4) Students who withdraw from the program after the first week will forfeit the tuition fees for that term, but will receive a refund of tuition for any remaining terms. In the case where the student has received their visa or residency permit through SIAL, they will have 2 weeks to leave Yemen or find another sponsor.

5) If a student terminates the course of study early, he or she is entitled to a refund. However, the price of the hourly rate for hours studied will be calculated based on the actual number of hours studied, not the original hourly rate, which was based on a larger number of hours. For example, a student registered for a full year study and paid the full tuition based on the hourly rate of $4.50/hour for 720 hours. Later he withdrew from the course after having studied for nine weeks, which is one and a half terms. He will be charged two full terms based on the hourly rate for two terms which is $6.50/hour (see this page for a full price list based on number of terms,) not $4.50/hour, and the amount of refund will be calculated as follows:

- Tuition paid: $4.50/hour x 720 hours = $3240
- Tuition for two terms: $6.50/hour x 240 hours = $1560
- Refund amount: $3240 - $1560 = $1680

5) Students should endeavor to complete their studies within the time frame of their program.

6) Our housing refund policy is similar to our tuition refund policy. If a student moves out the student housing early, he or she is entitled to a refund. However, the monthly rate will be calculated based on the actual duration which the student lived in the student house, not the monthly rate the student paid for initially. If a student moves out of the student house during the first ten days of a month, he or she will be charged $20/day for the number of actual days remained in the house. If a students moves out after the 10th day of the month, he or she will be charged the full month price. For example, a student paid for 11 months of housing which is $1650, and stayed in the student house for one month and 10 days, his actual housing fee will be:

- Housing for the first month: $250
- Housing for 10 days at $20/day: $200
- Total housing fee occurred: $250 + $200 = $450
- Refund entitled: $1650 - $450 = $1200
